Research @ HSS
Professor Liu Hong, Chair School of Humanities and Social Sciences has these to say on research

Promote interdisciplinary research at the forefront of international scholarship

The relentless pursuit of interdisciplinary research - not only within the School, but also across colleges, research centers, and universities both locally and globally- is the way to go. As well as strengthening our humanities and social sciences disciplines, we will promote new interdisciplinary research and education programmes based upon the School’s comparative strengths, leading-edge research trends in the international academe, and centrally aligned with the NTU “Five Peaks of Excellence”. Full support will be provided for strategic areas of research with an aim to increase the numbers and success rate of external research grant applications.

Place HSS more prominently on the global map of higher education and research

Built upon our existing achievements, we aspire to place HSS more prominently on the global map of higher education and cutting-edge research by expanding international collaborations. This will be achieved through, among other things, supporting joint international workshops and research projects as well as by establishing institutional links with leading global universities.
